Cuisine of Empek-Empek
According to folklore,arround 1617 years, there is a man 65 years old called Apek. He lives in Parakitan area(the banks of Musi rever). He feels concern to witness an abundant catch of fish in the Musi River. The catch is not uses properly, just fried and pindang. Then Apek tries other treatment alternatives. He mixes mince fish meat with tapoca flour, so that the resulting new foods.
The new food sold by Apek by cyling arround the city. Therefore, the seller called"Pek...empek" then the food is finally known as Empek empek or Pempek. ^_^
